Flatonia - Agatha Marie Zapalac age 93, passed away on November 1, 2010. She was born on September 25, 1917 in the Praha - Engle area to Ignac and Vlasta (Urbis) Pavlicek. She attended schools in Praha and Engle and was a graduate of Flatonia High School where she served as captain of the volleyball team. She was a loving caregiver to her parents, husband and children. She worked at Flatonia City Market for over 25 years and was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors: daughters, Juanita Ervin of Schulenburg and Jan Lahodny of Flatonia; sisters, Della Kurtz and Georgie Mae Havel of Schulenburg and Earlene O'Brien (Richard) of Engle; brother, I.J. Pavlicek (Margaret) of Schulenburg; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: parents; grandmother, Agnes Peters; husband, Alfred E. Zapalac; brother, Edwin (Papoose) Pavlicek; parents-in-law, Charles and Agnes (Zatopek) Zapalac; brothers- in-law, Joe Kurtz, Jerry Havel and Christian Barta; and sisters- in-law, Julia Barta and Lillie Zapalac. Visitation will be 8:00 am Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Friday, November 5, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia will Rev. Joe Hybner officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Praha.
