Albert W. Michalec, 79, of Alleyton, TX passed away on May 12, 2009. He was born April 17, 1930 in Shiner, Texas to the late Louis and Agnes Gebauer Michalec. He was an Airforce veteran. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Columbus and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Joyce Oeltjen Michalec, 2 sons- Al Michalec of Flatonia and John Michalec (Sherry) of Boerne, 3 daughters- Gerry McCurry and Norma Jean Long (Randy) of Cypress and Mary Lima of Onalaska, 3 brothers- Dan Michalec of Montgomery, Jerry Michalec of Needville and Paul Michalec of East Bernard, 2 sisters- Gertrude Koehler of Plantersville and Caroline Mocek of Houston, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son- Paul J. Michalec, 4 brothers- Steve, Eugene, Robert and Alois Michalec.
Pallbearers: Jason Long, Michael McCurry, Christopher Lima, Melvin Hill, Keith Polzin and Dillon Michalec.
Visitation will begin 4pm May 14, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home-Moulton. Rosary will be at 7pm May 14, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home-Moulton. Services will be at 10am May 15, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating.
