Alton Fisbeck

Alton Albert Fisbeck passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the age 88. He was born November 27, 1923 to Fritz and Mary Kaiser Fisbeck in Moulton, Texas. He was the youngest of 10 children and grew up farming and ranching in the Peach Creek area. Alton married Lillian Mae Faltisek May 6, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton. Five children were born to this loving union. The couple was married 55 years and lived east of Moulton on the Bauersville School site. Alton retired from Fisbeck Auto Supply in 1997 after 49 ½ years of employment. He liked playing dominoes, spending time with his family and especially enjoyed working in his garden. Alton was a kind, generous, simple man who loved his family unconditionally. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton and remained a faithful member. Alton's last years were spent in the Oak Manor Nursing Center in Flatonia. Alton was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillian, his parents, his siblings; 4 sisters-Ellen Hull, Alma Halliburton, Mary Ann Schniel, Minnie Miller and 5 brothers-Hugo, Otto, Gus, Victor, a baby that died at birth. He was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Cadince Cantwell of Weimar and a great grandson, Jack Hooper of Schulenburg. Alton is survived by his children; Darcy and wife Sandra of Missouri City, Lucreta Fike and husband David of Flatonia, Baylen and wife Jeanette of Weimar, Sheldon and wife Rochelle of Houston, Pamela Carpenter of LaGrange; nine grandchildren, A.J. Fike and wife Staci of Flatonia, DeeAnn Fike Hooper and husband Chris of Schulenburg, Lanna Fisbeck Cantwell and husband Ryan, Shawn Fisbeck and wife Lindsey of Weimer, Brandon Fisbeck and wife Lauren of Katy, Brent Fisbeck of Aurora, Colorado, Jessica Fisbeck Krejci and husband Stephen of Buda, Jenna Fisbeck of Round Rock, Madison Carpenter of LaGrange; two step-grandsons, Jesse Carson and wife Candy of Henderson, Tommy Whitcomb of Houston; ten great grandchildren, Chandler Fike, Jaycee Fike, Ellie Fike and Braidy Fike of Flatonia, William Fike Hooper of Schulenburg, Hannah Fisbeck, Troy Cantwell and Faith Cantwell of Weimar, Jackson Fisbeck and Colton Fisbeck of Katy. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Kate Fisbeck Higgins of Moulton. The family expresses their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Flatonia Oak Manor Nursing Center and Hospice of South Texas for keeping Alton comfortable with their tender loving care. Visitation will start at 10:00 am Friday, November 23, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton with Rev. Herbert Beyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Moulton City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darci Fisbeck, Baylen Fisbeck, Sheldon Fisbeck, Pam Carpenter, David Fike, Cordell Hull, and Francis Fisbeck.
