Alvin Meyer

Alvin Meyer of Moulton passed away Friday March 22, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born on May 8, 1925 in Gonzales County to the late Louis Meyer and Agnes Schacherl Meyer. Alvin was a farmer, rancher, carpenter, and mail carrier. Alvin proudly served his country during World War II where he served in the United States Navy. Alvin married Hattie Zemlicka on February 11, 1947. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Moulton Texas. Alvin was also a member of the Moulton American Legion and VFW. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Agnes Meyer. Alvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hattie Zemlicka Meyer, his daughter Sandra Fisbeck and husband Darcy of Missouri City, TX, his daughter Debra Luksovsky and husband Stanley of Moulton, TX. Alvin is also survived by his brother in-law and sister in-law, Cecil and Sophie Hull of San Antonio, TX. Alvin was known as Popo to his three grandchildren, Trisa Martin and husband Roger of Las Vegas, NV, Brandon Fisbeck and wife Lauren of Katy, TX, and Brent Fisbeck of Aurora, CO. Popo is also survived by his four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Aubrey Martin of Las Vegas, NV and Jackson and Colton Fisbeck of Katy, TX. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be sent to the American Heart Association. Visitation will start at 1 pm Sunday, March 24, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel followed by Rosary at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Monday, March 25, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton with Father Gabriel Maison officiating.
