Anita M. Stavinoha, 78, of Flatonia passed away on November 18, 2008. She was born December 6, 1929, the youngest of 4 children, in Moulton, Texas to the late Emil and Mary Pelech Jemelka. She was a member of S.P.J.S.T., Altar Society, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia.
She is survived by 3 sons- Emil Stavinoha and wife Margaret of Wharton, Donald Stavinoha and wife Diana of Weimar, and Dean Stavinoha and wife Jyl of Flatonia, 6 grandchildren- Wendi Stavinoha Acosta, Shelly, Nicole, Macy, Emil Jr. and Glen Stavinoha,, and 7 great grandchildren- Alexis, Israel, Iliana and Analise Acosta, Izak Marruffo, Dyanni and Jackson Castro.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband George Stavinoha, 2 brothers- Alvin and Frank Jemelka, and sister Alice Pilat.
Pallbearers- Emil Jr., Glen, Mark, Wayne and Ricard Stavinoha, Israel Acosta, and Glen Lancaster.
Visitation will begin 3pm November 20, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home-Flatonia. Rosary will be at 7pm November 21, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel-Flatonia. Service will be 10am November 22, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Chen officiating.
