Beverly Hutchens

June 7, 1914 — March 1, 2005

He was born June 7, 1914, in Goree, to the late Denver Clyde and Vergie Willis Tucker Hutchens. He was a combination man for Southwestern Bell and a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers and South Central Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Flatonia.

Survivors: wife, Beatrice Borrer Hutchens of Bay City; daughter, Connie Joyce Kelso of Bay City; son, William Clyde Hutchens of La Vernia; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: sister, Dorice Doncho; brothers, Orville Hutchens and Jack Hutchens; and one grandson.

Services were held Saturday at Flatonia Baptist Church, the Rev. Tim Rowell officiating.

Burial was at Oakhill Cemetery in Flatonia. Smith Funeral Home, Flatonia, 361-865-3311.
