Catherine Mica

Catherine (Kate) Brunner, age 84, of Flatonia passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010. Mrs. Brunner was born December 4, 1925 in Flatonia to the late Edward Mica and Francis Zimmerhanzel Mica. She was married to the late Edmund Brunner. Mrs. Brunner owned Brunner's Dairy Hart in Flatonia for 29 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Brunner is survived by two sons: Allan Brunner and wife, Sheila, of Flatonia, and Daniel Brunner of Livingston; one daughter: Linda Polk and husband, Dean, of Muldoon; one sister: Helen Brunner of Flatonia; six grandchildren: Ross Polk, Chris Polk, Scott Polk, Connie Brunner, Angie Haynes, and Chance Brunner; and eight great-grandchildren: Eddie Polk, Jeremy Polk, Wade Polk, Lane Brunner, Coltyn Needham, Landon Haynes, Bethany Haynes, and Wyatt Brunner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers: Ernest Mica, Henry Mica, Robert Mica, Edward Mica, and George Mica; and three sisters: Jossie Krametbauer, Martha Rebecek, and Della Novak. Visitation for friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Smith Funeral Home - Flatonia. Rosary will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery; Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Pallbearers will be Ross Polk, Chris Polk, Scott Polk, Chance Brunner, Ryan Pospisil, and Travis Berger. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Berger and Tyler Mica.
