Daniel Cyril Mican age 86 of Moulton passed away September 30, 2014. Daniel was born December 17, 1927 in Witting to the late Charles Mican and Julia Roznovsky Mican. After graduating from school in Witting, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Japan for 18 months. On November 10, 1952 he married Henrietta Kresta at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. They made their home in Houston for 40 years. Daniel was employed at JMH Supermarket for 3 years and in 1994 he retired from Cameron Iron Works after 37 years. In 1994 Daniel and Henrietta moved back to Moulton where they now reside. He was an Army veteran of WW II, member of the VFW, St. Joseph Catholic Church and member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local #15 in Houston. Daniel is preceded in death by his son-Donnie Mican, 2 sisters- Regina Otto and Julie Sedlar, 3 brothers-Charles Jr., Theodore and Eddie Mican. Survivors-wife- Henrietta Mican, 1 son-Randy Mican and wife Jeannie of Schulenburg, 2 grand-children-Clinton and Allison Mican and 1 brother Julius Mican of Gonzales. Visitation will start at 11:00 am Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home-Moulton with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 3, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic church with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
