Daniel Nieto

Daniel Nieto, 65, of Santa Fe, Texas, departed this life on Sunday, August 10, 2014. He was born March 10, 1949, in Moulton, Texas, to Bibe and Emma Perez Nieto. An enduring memory was traveling for yearly week long trail rides in his covered wagon to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and San Antonio Rodeo & trips to Garner state park to float the Frio river with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and spending time in the country setting of Sheridan. After growing up in Moulton and owning his own welding business for many years, his career took him to Santa Fe, where he lived the rest of his days. He was preceded in death by his parents Bibe and Emma Perez Nieto, sisters Maria and Flora Nieto and nephew Leroy Nieto Jr. He is survived by his wife Marie Herrera Nieto of Santa Fe, Texas, two sons and two daughters, Daniel Nieto Jr. of Fort Collins, Colorado; Delilah Owens (Kevin) of Santa Fe, Texas; Lisa Spinks (Paul) of Victoria, Texas and Sammy Nieto of Santa Fe, Texas. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren whom he adored dearly; Matthew, Nathan, Anthony, Marissa, Hunter, Spencer, Thomas, Grace and Brooke. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am at the funeral home and a rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, August 15, 2014. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
