Della Ballard

Della B. Ballard died peacefully on February 12, 2013 after having a full and happy life of 102 years. Her childhood was spent in the Community of Saturn only a few miles from Waelder, Texas where she met and fell in love with Wesley Ballard. They were married for sixty-five years and made their home in Waelder. They had three children, Wesley Jr., Nell and Jane. Della was a sweet and gentle soul who shared her love and laughter with all those around her. She was a member of Waelder United Methodist Church. Her faith in God was strong. She will forever watch over us in heaven as she did in life. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley, her son Wesley Jr., her Grandson Will Rumsey, her son-in-law Mickey Rumsey, her Mother and Father Ransom and Nancy Jane Beaver, four Brothers and four Sisters. Left to cherish her memories are Daughter Nell Rumsey, Daughter Jane Wyatt and Husband James, Granddaughter Lisa Miller and Husband Mike, Granddaughter Tammy Wyatt, Grandson Michael Wyatt and wife Betty, Great Grandchildren Holly Foster and Husband Derek, Laci Miller, Wesley Wyatt, Hannah Lazelle, Lauren Wyatt, Mackensie Miller, Amy Wyatt and Bryce Wyatt, Great Great Grandchildren Lily and Cooper Foster, Aydin Martinez and Sage Hawkins. Numerous nieces and nephews and their families. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday February 14, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home, Flatonia, Texas. Services will be held at 10 a.m. February 15, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home Flatonia, Texas with Rev. Nancy Littlefield officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Flatonia, Texas. The family wishes to thank the many family members and friends who showered her with love, visits, telephone calls, cards, letters throughout her golden years and to her faithful neighbors, Pete and Dixie Basquez for watching over her while she was still loving at home and their continued love shown toward her. Thanks to the rehab and nursing centers for their devoted care that made her feel at home and loved. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Eska for his kind and excellent attention toward her health. Thank you Mama/GaGa for all you have given us. You will be missed but remembered forever.
