Della Mares

Della Brosch, 97, of Cistern passed away on August 25, 2017. She was born in Muldoon, Texas to the late Stan and Lexie Zimmerhanzel Mares. She was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Alter Society, and the KJZT. She married Frankie Brosch on May 13, 1946. She was employed by Nabisco for 32 years. After retirement Della and Frankie built their retirement home in Cistern, Texas. She loved to cook and many enjoyable meals were shared by all. She was famous for her special homemade noodles. She loved all types of games, especially dominoes. She would play for hours on end. Della was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers - Fred and Dan Mares and niece Brenda Mares. Della is survived by her brother - Vencil Mares, Sisters in law - Elizabeth Brosch and Irene Mares, Nieces and Nephews - Steve and Jan Mares, Beverly Mares, Gary Mares, Pam and Dell Weathersby, Kenneth Brosch, Darrell and Karen Brosch, Maxine Krenek, Cynthia and Denny Williams, Betty Leinneweber, numerous Great Nieces/Nephews, cousins and many friends. Donations can be made to the St. Cyril Methodius Cemetery Fund - P.O. Box 186 Flatonia, Texas. 78941. Visitation is scheduled at 8:30am Saturday, September 2, 2017 with rosary following at 9:30am with Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church in Cistern with Father Eddie Winkler officiating.
