Donald Clark

December 26, 1941 — January 1, 2015

Donald Dean Clark was born on December 26, 1941 in Silsbee, Texas to Travis William Clark and Dora Dean Peacock Clark. He spent his childhood in Waelder, Tx. and graduated from Waelder High School in 1960. Donnie then graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1964. While at Southwest Texas he was a member of Alpha Psi Lamda/Kappa Sigma Fraternity and as a result he enjoyed a group of life-long dear friends. Don was active in Flatonia having served in Lions Club , Flatonia ISD Board of Trustees, Flatonia Chamber of Commerce, and Flatonia Golf Course Board. He was the owner & publisher of the Flatonia Argus Newspaper. Don was a life long member of the Methodist Church. He was an active rancher enjoying his daily trips to the country checking his cattle. He spent many happy hours playing golf, following the Astros, and enjoying his granddaughters. Donnie is survived by Beverly Towns Clark of Flatonia, Tx., his son Sheridan Greggory Clark, daughter-in-law Kelle Kay Clark, and his granddaughters Monington Jackson & Saxstin Bowers Clark all of Yoakum Tx Serving as pallbearers are Bill Robbins, Larry Stein, Frankie Tupa, Dan Beck, Jerry Autry and Dennis Freytag. Visitation will start at 5:00 pm Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the funeral home. Services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel-Flatonia with Maurice G. Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Waelder Masonic Cemetery.
