Edward L. Carlock of Flatonia passed away March 29, 2013 at the age of 74. He was born in Cameron, Texas December 29, 1938 to the late Margaret and Thomas G. Carlock. Ed and Carlene owned and operated The Aston for 27 years in Flatonia. He was a member of Flatonia United Methodist Church, American Legion, and Woodman of World. Also, a Army Veteran of the Korean War. Edward is survived by one son, J.M. Fowlkes wife Trina of China Spring, Texas; one daughter, Lynn Priddy husband Greg of Porter, Texas; seven grandchildren, Shannon Davis, Brandy Bowden, Cory Clark, Kaleb Fowlkes, Boyd Fowlkes, McKenzie Fowlkes, and J.M. Fowlkes; eight great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Wyatt, Patience, Kaydence, Gunner, Breonna, Harley, and David III. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carlene Carlock; brother, Rodney Carlock. Visitation will start at 9:00 am Monday, April 1st at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Funeral services will be held at Smith Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 2nd, with Pastor Rob Clopton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, in Flatonia. Pallbearers will be Chad Gaskey, Kaleb Fowlkes, Cory Clark, Boyd Fowlkes, David Bowden, and J.M.
