MOULTON - Elo Frank Pavlicek, 85, of Moulton, died Saturday, August 28, 2004. He was born June 7, 1919, in Moulton to Annie Jilek Pavlicek and Joe Frank Pavlicek, Sr. He married Lexie Vinklarek of Cistern on November 9, 1948.
Mr. Pavlicek served in the U.S. Army Special Troops from May 1942-January 1946. During his service in WW II, he received the European Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, Meritorious Unit Award, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a farmer until 1961 and then self-employed as a television and radio repair technician and salesman.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post #6971 and Geier Merrem American Legion. He served as Moulton City Alderman.
Survivors are his wife, Lexie Vinklarek Pavlicek; daughters, Darlene Hill of San Marcos, Sherri Pavlicek and Elaine Rister, both of Houston; son, Melvin Pavlicek of Katy; and five grandchildren, Linsey Brosch and Melanie Pavlicek of Dallas, Elizabeth Pavlicek of Lubbock and Blaine and Bradley Rister of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joe Pavlicek, Jr., Herbert Pavlicek, Alfons Pavlicek and Anton Pavlicek.
Visitation was Sunday at Smith Funeral Home chapel with a rosary led by the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Vocalists were LaDell Janda, Gerry Graham and Kelly Korenek of El Campo, nieces of Mrs. Pavlicek. Lector was Bernadette Nieto of Moulton. The grandchildren served as offertory bearers. Pallbearers were Joe Pilat and Alfonse Fojtik of Moulton, and nephews, David Pavlicek of Eagle Lake, Daniel Pavlicek of Stafford, Jerry Pavlicek of Victoria, and Michael Janecek of Moulton.
