Elvira (Vera) Ramirez age 76 of Flatonia, Texas passed away February 19, 2018. Vera was born on February 19, 1942 in Moulton, Texas to the late Adolph Castro and Frances Perez Castro. She was member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include one son- Rick Ramirez and wife Irma of Humble, Texas, 2 daughters- Lili Ramirez Larson of Schulenburg, Texas, Martha Ramirez Cantu and husband Ruben of Cypress, Texas, four brothers-Billy Castro of Moulton, Texas, Andrew Castro of Moulton, Texas, Johnny Castro of Manor, Texas and Rudy Castro of New Braunsfel, Texas, three sisters-Josie Orosco of Shiner, Texas, Agnes Rivera of Shiner, Texas and Pauline Gomez of Yoakum, Texas, eight grand-children and 5 great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by her husband-Eulalio Ramirez December 25, 1970, one infant brother and one infant sister. Serving as pallbearers are Alfred Cordova, Anthony Gomez, Carlos Orosco, Ricky Ramirez, Elvis Ramirez and Dylan Ramirez. Visitation will start at 3:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018 followed by a rosary being recited at 6:30 pm at Smith Funeral Home Chapel-Flatonia. Mass will be at 10:00am Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery-Flatonia. A reception will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Parish Hall in Praha.
