Esperanza Esparza

Esperanza Esparza, age 89, of Pasadena, Texas passed away March 9, 2017. Esperanza was born on February 14, 1928 in Waelder to the late Eliseo and Josefa Arguello Melchor. She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Guadalupana Society and De-Colores. She is preceded in death by her husband Aurelio Esparza, her infant daughter and two brothers. Survivors include her two sons, Carlos Esparza and wife Christy of Johnstown, PA and San Antonio Esparza of Houston, TX, seven daughters, San Juanita Haro of Pasadena, TX, Aurelia M. Gallegos of Bowling Green, OH, Josie DeWalt and husband Philip of Houston, TX, Guadalupe Calvillo and husband Sonny Hodges of Houston, TX, Maria Esparza of Orlando, FL, Eva Esparza of Houston, TX and Saturnina Cardenas and husband Ruben of Houston, TX, one brother, Braulio Melchor of San Antonio, TX, twenty grand-children, and eighteen great- grand-children. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Burial will follow in the Waelder Community Cemetery.
