Estella Josephine Stavinoha

Estella J. Stavinoha, age 98, of Moulton, Texas, entered into eternal life on September 13, 2026, in Floresville, Texas.

Estella was born in Moulton on February 8, 1928, to Fred and Albina Pilat, grew up and went to school in Moulton, and married Julius Stavinoha on May 7, 1946.

Estella had 3 children, Karen, Mark, and Wayne and lived on her farm until 1955 when her family had to move to San Antonio, Texas. (Her family still has the farm).

In San Antonio, she was a homemaker, raised her children, worked part-time at Montgomery Ward, and belonged to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

In 2023, she moved to Floresville, Texas, to live with her daughter and went to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include daughter Karen Haller, son Mark Stavinoha (Ellie Spect) and son Wayne Stavinoha.  Her 5 grandchildren are Marshelle Stavinoha, CJ Stavinoha (Karla), Jason Stavinoha, Tana Ketchner, and Chad Stavinoha (Tyla).  Her 9 great-grandchildren are Marek Hinojosa, Tres Hinojosa, Elliana Hinojosa, Patrick Stavinoha, Jack Stavinoha, Stella Stavinoha, Beau Ketchner, Stella Ann Ketchner, and Rylee Stavinoha.

Estella is preceded in death by her husband Julius Stavinoha, her parents Fred Pilat and Albina Pulkrabek Pilat, her sisters Ethel Darilek and husband Milton, Elenora Krejci and husband Victor, Emily Boehm and husband Hugo, daughter-in-law Susie Stavinoha, and son-in-law Lonnie Haller.

Pallbearers are Jason Stavinoha, Chad Stavinoha, CJ Stavinoha, Beau Ketchner, Patrick Stavinoha, Jack Stavinoha, Marek Hinojosa, and Tres Hinojosa.  Honorary Pallbearers are Scott Boehm, Don Darilek, Emil Stavinoha, and Kevin Kral.

Visitation is on Thursday, September 17th, from 5-7 pm, at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton, and a Mass on the following day, September 18th, 2026 at 10 am, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton, with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating.  Burial will follow, as well as a meal in the Parish Hall.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
