August 9, 1922 — January 12, 2015

Biography of Frank J. Olsovsky, Sr. Born on August 9, 1922 in Wallis, Texas to Frank G. Olsovsky and Sophie Jasek Olsovsky. He was the oldest of seven children. His family moved to Praha, Texas in 1937, where he lived until moving to Austin, Texas to attend Durham Business College. Frank was drafted into military service in the US Army in 1942 and was stationed in New Guinea during World War II. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1946. Frank returned to Austin and began working in the field of accounting. He worked in accounting for several companies and then in his own business with more than 60 years of experience. He truly enjoyed working with the large number of clientele he amassed during his career and only reluctantly stopped working due to his failing eyesight. Frank met Miss Elaine Kalina while they were living in the same boarding house in Austin, Texas. They were married in Kovar, Texas on May 16, 1949. They were married for 60 years. They raised 2 children, Frank, Jr. and Margaret. Frank and Elaine joined St. Louis Catholic Church as parishioners in 1952. Frank's service to the parish included being an usher, counting money and reciting the rosary before mass. Frank enjoyed gardening, farming and working with cattle. He especially enjoyed spending time at the farm with his grandsons, Nathan and Jared. He grew prize-winning pecans and won several awards for the varieties entered into competition. Frank was always eager to attend family reunions to see close and distant relatives and enjoyed telling stories to his grandchildren about his childhood experience with his parents, and brothers and sisters, growing up on a farm
