Fransisca Martinez, age 81 passed away on Wednesday July 11, 2018. Fransisca was born January 29, 1937 in Waelder, Texas to Rito and Castula Gomez Gonzales. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder, Texas. Fransisca is survived by her husband, Mariano Martinez; sons Julian Martinez and wife Delma of Conroe, Cecilio Martinez and wife Lupe of Houston, Steven Martinez of Lubbock, Johnny Martinez and wife Rosario of Slaton, Joe Martinez of Slaton, Ascension Martinez and wife Rosa of Big Spring, David Martinez and wife Dora of Slaton, Angel Martinez of Slaton, and daughters Rosa Martinez Gara of Waelder, Adela Hartman and husband Frank of Conroe, Angela Martinez and wife Gabriela Martinez of Waelder, brothers Domingo Gonzales of Slaton and Louis Gonzales of Lubbock, and sisters Dominga Saenz of Lubbock and Alejandra Munoz of Slaton, thirty-two grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, and twenty-six great-great-grandchildren Fransisca was preceded in death by her parents, sons Jose Martinez Jr. and Mariano Martinez Jr., and daughters Elida Martinez and Maria De Jesus. A visitation for Fransisca will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. A rosary will occur Friday, July 13, 2018 at 7:00 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waelder with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Martinez, Joe Martinez, Ascension Martinez, David Martinez, Angel Martinez and Angela Martinez.
