Gene Selzer

Gene Allen Selzer, Sr, 67 of Moulton passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Gene was born on August 8, 1942 in Gonzales county to Theresa Valenta Selzer, of Moulton and the late Louis D. Selzer. Gene was a longtime rancher in Gonzales County and was also very active in the Poultry Industry. Gene was also involved in the Texas Cattleman's Association, Parks and Wildlife Game Management Program and his church, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton. Survivors: Wife, Rose Berckenhoff Selzer, of Moulton, Daughter; Sharon Spurlin and her Husband Steve, of Cypress, Son; Gene A. Selzer, Jr. and his Wife Brenda, of Fort Worth, Brother; Larry Selzer and his wife Carol,of Gonzales. Grandchildren: Hannah and Hayden Selzer, Terrence and Trevor Spurlin. Gene is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Selzer, Jr. Visitation will begin at 9 am Friday at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Friday. The Mass will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to donor's Choice.
