George Koricanek

George J. Koricanek of Seguin passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at the age of 76. He was born October 15, 1934 in Flatonia to the late Charlie and Lena (Syrinek) Koricanek. George is survived by one son, Steve Koricanek and wife Betty of Seguin; two daughters, Sherrie Davis of Seguin and Kimberly Gold of New Braunfels; one brother, Walter Koricanek of Nordheim; and three sisters, Viola Holt of Gonzales, Millie Owens of Flatonia and Allene Phillipus of Flatonia. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Davis, and Cora and Mellannie Haley. Mr. Koricanek is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Frank, Julius, Emil, Louis and Fred Koricanek; and two sisters, Rosie Hunter and Elsie Catchings. Visitation will be 4:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia with Rev. Tim Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia.
