Georgiann Barta

Georgiann Julia (Pavlicek) Barta went to be with the Lord on June 13th 2020. Georgiann was born on June 14, 1929 in Komensky the daughter of James and Emilia Pavlicek and raised by Julia and Frank Pavlicek. She resided her entire life in the Praha area after marrying Louis Edward Barta on October 2, 1950. A devoted wife and mother, Georgiann faithfully attended mass at St. Mary's Church in Praha where she was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed walking her ranch land, checking the cattle and feeding the catfish in the tank. She also had a lifelong love of travel. She and Louis spent many vacations on road trips covering the far reaches of the United States. Georgiann is survived by three sons, Kenneth Barta and his wife, Louisa of Austin, Randall Barta and his wife Carol of Praha, Stanley and his wife Peggy of Yoakum, and two daughters, Susan Ivey of Flatonia and Pamela Moreno of San Antonio; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Edward Barta, one grandson Jeremy Barta and son-in-law Clyde Hartfield. Pallbearers are Brian Hartfield, Daniel Hartfield, Rodney Hartfield, Jonathan Hartfield, Chris Inman and Josh Barta. The Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 17th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha officiated by Father Gabriel Maison. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Praha. Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas or St. Mary's Restoration Endowment Fund.
