Hattie Darilek, 95 of Moulton, Texas passed away on November 15, 2016. Hattie was born October 27, 1921 in Shiner, Texas to Jim and Barbara Brom. Hattie and Ben were married in 1943 and lived at times at various Army Air Corps bases in Florida and Utah. After the war, Ben returned to teaching and Hattie tended the home. They were both avid gardeners with roses being her favorites. Family, church and school were Hattie's worlds. Education was a priority and took pride in her grandchildren's graduate studies. For a time she was Cub Scout den mother and usually chaperone for school trips, especially basketball games. Hattie is survived by son Tim Darilek and wife Deborah and daughter Carole Kalisek and husband Julius, granddaughters Lauren Kalisek and husband Neel and Allison Copeland and husband Chris, great-granddaughters Emma and Claire Baumgardner, and great-grandsons Ian and Graham Copeland. Hattie is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Barbara Brom, husband Ben Darilek, one brother, and two sisters. Visitation will start at noon Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Moulton. Rosary will be recited at 9:15am Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Moulton with Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Moulton.
