Helen Valis

Helen (Valis) Bohuslav (1938-2015) Helen Elizabeth Bohuslav, 77, of Moulton, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 in the Yoakum Community Hospital, after a long battle fighting cancer. She was born on September 28, 1938, in Shiner, Texas, to John W. and Helen (Roznovsky) Valis. She was the only beloved sister of Johnnie, Raymond, and Edward Valis. She attended St. Ludmila's Academy in Shiner. On November 10, 1956 she married "her honey," Daniel Bohuslav at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. The couple made their home in Moulton, Texas where they resided for their entire married life of nearly 59 years. Helen was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church as well as a member of the KJZT Society. In addition, to her husband Daniel, Helen is survived by her children Bobby Bohuslav (wife Sharon, children April (husband Nick), Brent, LeAnne (husband Ryan), Kayla, and Connor), Susan Jasek (husband Allen, children Byron (wife Johnna) and Gavin (wife Brittany), and Kenneth Bohuslav (wife Deana, children Whitney (husband Wesley), Keelan (fiancée Kelsey), Abby, and Shelby). Helen is also survived by the joys of her life, her great grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Cecilia, Sebastian, Siena, Madeline, Caroline, Zachary, Chloe, Peyton and Hunter. Pallbearers: Byron Jasek, Gavin Jasek, Keelan Bohuslav, Wesley Pohler, Brent Bohuslav, and Connor Bohuslav Honorary Pallbearers: Whitney Pohler, Abby Bohuslav, Shelby Bohuslav, April Cornwell, LeAnne Curry, and Kayla Bohuslav Visitation will start at 8:00 am Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home followed be a rosary at 7:00 pm at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 5, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
