Ida Koranek

Ida Lee Koranek passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Shady Oak Nursing Home in Moulton, Texas. She was born October 9, 1934 to Oscar and Annie Riebschlaeger in Hallettsville, Texas. Ida was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Moulton, KJZT, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar Society. Ida leaves behind her son, Daniel Wayne Koranek of Moulton, daughters, Laurie Ann Koranek Whisnant and husband Roy of Bastrop, Kathleen Marie Koranek of Moulton, daughter-in-law Beverly Koranek of Moulton, grandchildren Kristi Lynn Thompson and husband Ryan of Moulton, Justin Scott Raab of Victoria, Brittany Marie Koranek of Moulton, Erick Allen Raab of Waco, Tracetyn Wade Nietsche of LaGrange, and Megan Rose Koranek of Moulton, and great-grandchildren Addison, Alexa, and Aubree Thompson, and Jordyn Helfer all of Moulton. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Ida is preceded in death by her parents, husband Constable Daniel Koranek, son Michael Anthony Koranek, and grandson Christopher Curry Prasek. Pallbearers include Justin Raab, Erick Raab, Tracetyn Nietsche, Ryan Thompson, Darrel Helfer, and Pat "P.J." Jalufka. Visitation will start 5:00pm Monday, February 27, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 9:30am Tuesday, February 28, with Funeral Mass following at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Moulton. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
