Iola Wehmeyer of Flatonia passed away May 2, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born November 9, 1914 in Fayette county to the late Gertrude (Gray) and Boe Robinson. Iola was a member of Flatonia United Methodist Church, 60+ year member of American Legion Auxiliary, and the local Hermann Sons Fraternity. She retired from Southwestern Bell after 25+ years of service as a switchboard operator. She is survived by one son, Bob Roberts of Flatonia; two grandsons, Jay Roberts and Ross Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Roberts, Connor Roberts, Payton Ann Roberts, and Carson Jerrod Roberts; three sisters, Mary Allen, Dixie White, and Joy Manofsky husband A.J. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Tommy Roberts; second husband, Charlie Wehmeyer; Infant child, Baby Wehmeyer; one sister, Doris Nell Robinson; three brothers, Travis, Byron and Richard Robinson. Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home Chapel - Flatonia at 4:00 pm Sunday May 5th. Funeral will be at Flatonia United Methodist Church at 10:00 am Monday, May 6th with Pastor Rob Clopton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia. Pallbearers will be Corey Robinson, Gregg Robinson, Robin Robinson, Ethan Roberts, Connor Roberts, Dickie White, Richard Cernosek, and Travis Davis.
