.Obituary for Isabel (Ebelle) Morrill Isabel "Ebelle" Malcik Morrill, age 97, passed away on October 9, 2016 in Flatonia. Ebelle was born on October 4, 1919, in Cistern, TX. to the late John and Albina Psencik Malcik. She married Kenneth Leroy Morrill on February 14, 1945. She worked for the State Bank in Flatonia as a secretary for 29 years and was a member of the Flatonia Sacred Heart Church, the Flatonia Rotary Club, and the Alter Society. Ebelle had also served as a Eucharistic Minister in her parish. Ebelle is survived by her two sons, Dr. John Morrill of Gatesville, and Steve Morrill and wife Debbie of Flatonia. She is also survived by one daughter, Susan Morrill Alston and husband Bobby of Seguin. Ebelle was proud to be called Grandma or Grandma Nannie by her 6 grandchildren: Heather Ashley and husband David of Gatesville, Cmdr. USN Scott Morrill and wife Courtney of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Wesley Alston and wife Heather of San Antonio, Kenneth Morrill and wife Ana of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kyle Morrill and wife Jessica of Victoria, Kurt Morrill and wife Holly of La Grange. She was also blessed with 9 great grandchildren: Cody Graham and Hannah Ashley of Gatesville, Isabella, Rylan, and Isla Morrill of Virginia Beach, Penelope Alston of San Antonio, Bryson and Harper Morrill of Victoria, and Mila Rae Morrill of La Grange. Ebelle is also survived by 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Preceding her death was her husband, Ken Morrill, her son, Bill Morrill, and his wife Reneta, a daughter-in-law Diane Morrill of Gatesville, her parents, two sisters. Valasta Fatheree and Marie Olle, and two brothers, Bill and Dr. Alfred Malcik. The eulogy of Ebelle was written and read prior to the rosary by her only granddaughter, Heather Ashley. The rosary was let by Ann Bratton of Flatonia. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, October 13, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pall bearers were her grandsons: David Ashley, Wesley Alston, Scott Morrill, Kenneth Morrill, Kyle Morrill, Kurt Morrill, and son-in-law Bobby Alston. Alter server and Eucharistic Minister was Joe Gajados. Scripture readings were read by Sue Taylor. Organist was Dorothy Blackmon and soloist was Karen Benton. Contributions can be made to Flatonia Sacred Heart Church.
