James Joe Bartos age 60 of Flatonia passed away February 18, 2014. James was born on June 14, 1953 in Shiner, Texas to Adolph Bartos and Della Hajek Bartos. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of the Flatonia Volunteer Fire Department. James was owner of James's Lawncare for some 20 plus years. Survivors: mother-Della Bartos of Flatonia, one son-Shane Bartos of Flatonia, three brothers-Louis and wife Lilla Bartos of Flatonia, Anton Bartos of Angleton, George Bartos and special friend Kathy Koranek of Moulton, one sister-Dolores and husband David Labay of Conroe, one grand-child-Tyler Bartos, and special friend-Melinda Terrell of Flatonia along with numerous nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his father-Adolph Bartos and grand-parents-Henry and Angelina Hajek and Joe and Mary Bartos. Serving as pallbearers: Allan Stryk, Billy Niesner, Danny Ray Jares, Frankie Tupa, David Hoffman and Gilbert Velasquez and honorary pallbearers: Mario Perales and Charlie Vrana Jr. Visitation will begin at 7:30 am Friday, February 21, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home-Flatonia. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Flatonia with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
