James Emil Farek, age 84, of Flatonia, Texas passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2020. James was born November 28, 1935 in Pine Springs, Texas to Lillian Kalmus Farek and Emil Farek. James is survived by his wife, Pauline Farek; son Kirby Farek (Nancy) of Flatonia, Texas; son Mace Farek of Katy, Texas; son Mark Farek of Houston, Texas; and daughter Joan Biel of Flatonia, Texas; sister Mollie Beck (Ron) of Flatonia, Texas. James was preceded in death by; son Nicholas Farek and son-in-law Bernie Biel; father Emil Farek and mother Lillian Kalmus Farek; brother Leroy Farek; brother Franklin Farek and sister Lillian Wotipka; grandson Courtlen Farek. A visitation for James will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, Flatonia, Texas. A rosary will occur Friday, June 12, 2020 at 7:00 PM, Flatonia, TX. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Flatonia, TX. A burial will occur Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Flatonia, TX. Serving as pallbearers are David Florus, Brent Florus, Ron Beck Jr., Virgil Guetieriz, Alex Holden Farek and Nancen Kainer. Honorary pallbearers are his Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Brandon Hernandez.
