James Koncaba

August 31, 1926 — September 11, 2014

James F. Koncaba, 88 of Moulton passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was born August 31, 1926 to the late Frank A. and Elizabeth Koncaba. James married Dolores Wagner on July 18, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton. He served in WWII and was a 70 year active member of the American Legion Post 392, a 60 year member of the Moulton Volunteer Fire Department, severed on the Lavaca County EMS, and worked 60 years in the Newspaper Printing Industry. James is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Dolores, children Carolyn (Ervin) Kolacny and Marla (Raymond) Ebner both of Hallettsville, Kenneth (Carla) Koncaba of Sheridan, Timothy (Rosalie) Koncaba, and Richard Koncaba both of Moulton. Numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Delaine Kolacny and 2 sisters Olga Brazda, Tillie Firasek. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Moulton Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will start at 11:00 am Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Smith Funeral Home-Moulton with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 15, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
