Joey Velasquez

Joey E. Velasquez, 41, of Flatonia, Texas passed away May 12, 2017. He was born December 20, 1975 in Weimer, Texas to Joe Velasquez and Margaret Estrada Marruffo. He leaves behind his parents, wife, Kimberly Velasquez, two daughters Kirsten and Kinsey Velasquez, two sisters Elizabeth Diaz and husband Javier of Schulenburg and Koryna Marruffo of Flatonia, and Brother Adrian Marruffo and wife Andrea of Flatonia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joey is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Dan and Janie Velasquez Sr. and maternal grandparents Julian and Sarah Estrada Sr. Pallbearers are Chris Alvarado, Justin Diaz, Adrian Marruffo, Elpidio Moreno, Stephen Reddish, Chris Rodriguez, David Velasquez, and Frank Velasquez. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer service will follow at 6:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held 2:30pm, Friday, May 19, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha with Father Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
