Johnny D. Meisetschleager passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the NorthShore Hospital in Portland, Texas. He was born October 27, 1949 to Jodie George and Ludmilla (Lillie) Pavlica Meisetschleager in Shiner, Texas. Johnny was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Dog Club, SOAR (Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees), and the Moulton Booster Club. Johnny retired after 31 years with Alcoa. Shortly after retiring, he began working as a courier for SouthStar Bank and was still employed with them until the day of his passing. Johnny was a very simple man who lived for his family. He was extremely giving and always there lend a helping hand whenever and where ever needed. He had a passion for cooking and loved fishing, hunting, playing dominoes and making memories with his family. Johnny leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Irene, son John Meisetschleager and wife Tia, daughters Larissa Tesch and husband Kevin and Kristen Jahn and husband Clinton, grandchildren Holden Jahn, Lilee Jahn, Trenton Meisetschleager, Tristan Meisetschleager, Olivia Tesch, Kaddin Tesch, and Anne Claire Bakker, brother James "Mouse" Meisetschleager and wife Carla, and sister Dianna Polasek and husband Bennie and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents and brother Jodie Gene Meisetschleager. Pallbearers include Johnny's friend and neighbor Darrell Rothbauer, his Godson Joshua Schacherl and his nephews Michael Bernshausen, Matt Mozisek, Nicholas Neskora and Justin Meisetschleager. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny's grandchildren Holden and Lilee Jahn, Trenton and Tristan Meisetschleager, Olivia and Kaddin Tesch, and Anne Claire Bakker and the Dog Club. Visitation will start 10:00am Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Sunday, February 26, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Moulton. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Johnny Meisetschleager Memorial Scholarship Fund.
