Josephine Syrinek, age 96, passed away on September 1, 2008 in Flatonia, Texas. Josephine was born on November 7, 1911 to the late Ludvick and Cecilia (Zatopek) Maly in Engle, Texas. She was married to the late Alfred Syrinek.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three infant children; son, James Syrinek and one grandson.
She is survived by her son, August Syrinek and his wife Beverly of Georgia; daughters, JoAnn Fiedler of Schulenburg; Lillie Mae Chamber and her husband Robert of Flatonia; Dorothy Von Minden and husband James of La Grange; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Rosary was held at 9:30 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, in Flatonia,on Thursday, September 4, prior to the Funeral Mass.
Services were held at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Joe Hybner officiating.
Simply stated, Josephine was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person. Josephine leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Josephine Syrinek.
