Josephine Elizondo Nieto

Josephine Elizondo Nieto, age 89, born in Shiner, TX (Midway) on August 27, 1933 to Agarita Canales Elizondo and Baltazar Elizondo.

Married Fred Nieto Sr. October 30, 1955, she was blessed with 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Children: Frank Nieto (Tracy), Fred Nieto Jr. (Roberta), Rose Bartos (Joseph), Yolanda Bartos (Robert), Robert Nieto (Polly), Mary Lou Holub (Ronald).

Grandchildren: Tara Kloesel (Johnny), Tori Ortiz (Myke), Devin Nieto (Ashley), Blair Blaschke, Mason Nieto, Elliott Bartos, Aaron Bartos, Noah Bartos, Cody Bartos (Amber), Bobby Bartos (Kyla), Paige Mica (Colby), Ethan Motal, Weldon Holub, Landon Holub.

Great-Grandchildren: Aiden and Holden Kloesel, Demi Ortiz, Addison, Bernadette and Caden Nieto, Kohen and Koryl Blaschke, Brinely and Emery Bartos, Pressley and Jett Bartos.

Sister: Tommie Garibay and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine worked as a nurse aide at Shady Oak Nursing Home, and then went to work at Moulton Products until she retired and helped at the family Texaco/Shell station.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved going to Coushatta and playing Bingo, and her hobby was keeping her yard, beautiful plants and roses everywhere.

Proceeded in death by husband Fried Nieto Sr., grandson Aaron Bartos, parents Agarita and Baltazar Elizondo, brothers Gilbert Elizondo, Sammy Elizondo, Tony Elizondo and sisters Margaret Cortez, Stella Moreno, Anita Sainz, Julianita Elizondo, Reyes Elizondo and Trindad Elizondo.

Pallbearers: Devin Nieto, Cody Bartos, Elliott Bartos, Ethan Motal, Weldon Holub, Mason Nieto.

Honorary Pallbearers: Bobby Bartos, Noah Bartos, Landon Holub, and Tommy Perez.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton, TX.  A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton, TX with a mass following at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Gabriel Maison.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Moulton, TX.
