Joyce Elaine Janecka, 84, was called home on May 23, 2020. She was born on July 17, 1935 in Cat Spring, Texas to the late Walter Dehnel and Gladys Wienecke. She spent her adolescence in Cat Spring and Bellville, Texas. In November of 1955 Joyce married Delphin Janecka, Sr. with whom she settled and started a family with in Cistern, Texas. They built a life ranching, a passion that Joyce continued after the death of her beloved husband in 1988. When Joyce was not in the pasture checking her cattle or mending fence she could be found gardening in her beautiful flower beds, traveling across America, enjoying polka music, attending Mass at St. Mary's in Praha or going for a drive through the countryside especially after a good rainfall. She was a master shopper and always an avid supporter of the grandkids' activities through the years and made every event she could. Joyce was surrounded by a family that loved her dearly and she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyful heart. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Delphin Janecka, Sr., parents Gladys Wienecke and Walter Dehnel, Sisters Lillie Mae Hawkins and Lucille Oglesby and half-brothers LeeRoy and Floyd Wienecke. She is survived by her sister Waldine Breeden, of Smithville, Texas sister in law Lexie Davis of Dallas Texas, children Wanda McDaniel and husband Hack, Delphin "Buddy" Janecka Jr. and wife Sharon, David Janecka and his wife Lori all of Cistern, Texas. Grandchildren, Candis Klesel and Husband Cullen of Cypress, Texas, Mandi Prichard and Husband Matt of Victoria, Justin Janecka and Wife Krystal of Cistern, Texas, Katy Janecka of Lumberton, Texas, Delphin Janecka of Cistern, Texas , Dillion Michalec and wife Heidi of Rosanky, Kayla, Kimberlyn, and Karmyn Michalec of Cistern, Texas. Great grandchildren, Kaisley and Jehnsen Janecka, Jaxson and Ellie Klesel, Brayden Prichard, Kara Pavlicek, and Denton and Hensley Michalec. A public visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, Flatonia, Texas. Rosary will be Friday, May 29, 2020 at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Praha, Texas with the funeral mass following at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Flatonia, Texas.
