Julia Okruhlik, age 89, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012. She was born July 29, 1922 in Praha to the late Joseph and Rosalie Wenglar Blaha. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was also a member of the Altar Society and KJZT. She is survived by her husband, Anton Okruhlik; daughters, Patricia Hajek of Brenham and Geralyn (Charles) Klimitchek of Hallettsville; sister, Josephine Okruhlik of Fort Worth; two grandsons, Robert (Tammy) Hajek and Jeffrey (Kelly) Hajek; and great grandchildren, Kourtney Hajek and Brittney Hajek, all of Brenham; sister-in-laws, Stazy Hajek of Praha and Sister Rose Okruhlik of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Okruhlik; sister, Lillie Sofka; and son-in-law, Clarence Hajek Visitation will begin 4:00 pm Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. A Rosary will be recited 6:00 pm Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. The Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha. Burial will follow at the Praha Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Klimitchek, Robert Hajek, Jeffrey Hajek, Alvin Hajek, Charlie Hajek and Bennie Okruhlik. Memorials can be given to the St. Mary's Catholic Church-Praha or Sacred Heart Catholic School-Hallettsville.
