Larry John Mueller, a devoted family man, respected professional, and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 9, 2026, in Hallettsville, Texas. Born on October 12, 1939, in Yoakum, Texas, Larry lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep love for his family and the simple joys of rural life.

Larry grew up in Yoakum, where he graduated from Yoakum High School, earning his diploma and distinguishing himself as the quarterback of the football team. Known for his popularity and leadership among his peers, Larry exhibited early on the qualities of commitment and resilience that would characterize his entire life. Following his schooling, he served honorably in the United States Army, demonstrating his patriotism and sense of duty.

After his military service, Larry enjoyed a rewarding 31-year career with Shell Oil company, rising from a humble beginning at a gas station to become a respected land-man

Larry was universally well-liked and deeply respected by all who knew him. He was known as a man who stood firmly with the underdog, He was a quiet, witty man with a strong sense of fairness  

A man of the land, Larry cherished working on his cattle farm, a sanctuary where he found joy and contentment after retirement. His life was equally enriched by the many activities he loved: hunting, fishing, camping, and, especially, the family gatherings. Whether it was enjoying crawfish boil parties at the park or savoring the best backyard BBQs, Larry understood the true value of making memories with those he loved.

Family was the cornerstone of Larry’s life. He took immense pride in the family he raised with his late wife, Jerilynn Ann Mueller (Technik).  Larry is survived by; Shawn Mueller and his wife Tracy, and Tammy Weis and her husband Aaron—along with his grandchildren Matthew Weis, Melanie Thibodeau, John Weis, Lyla Mueller, Sadie Mueller, and great-grandchildren Ace Weis and Valkyrie Weis, to carry forward his spirit and values.

Larry’s surviving siblings—Shirley Millsap and Delores Frisbie—along with a large circle of loving family and friends, will remember him as a pillar of strength, warmth, and inspiration. He is preceded in death by his parents, Karl Jacob Fred Mueller and Ottilli Ann Emma Mueller (Sauero); his late wife Jerilynn Ann Mueller (Technik); and siblings Alene Harris, Charles Mueller, and Roy Mueller.

A burial service will be held at 10:00 a.m on October 12 at 601 N. Pecan St., Moulton TX, where family and friends will gather to honor and lay Larry to rest.
