Leroy Mikulencak

Leroy Mikulencak, Sr., 91, passed away on December 12, 2021. He was born February 23, 1930 in Moulton, TX to Frank and Annie Trojacek Mikulencak. He attended school until the 8th grade and then began working. He met the love of his life on the dance floor in Kokernot, TX. Marie Barta and Leroy were married on May 29, 1951 for 57 years. Six months after they were married, he was drafted to California for basic training and then sent overseas to Korea on October 11, 1951. Leroy served in the Korean War, and was Honorable discharged on August 29, 1953. Once he got back home, Marie and Leroy began their family. Leroy, Jr. was born July 7, 1954 and Michael on July 18, 1957. They lived in Moulton and Leroy, Sr. helped Marie in her coffee shop; while he worked numerous jobs before he decided to start Leroy's Plumbing and together they built a legacy that will carry on. Leroy was a member of the KC Council 3244, Veteran of Foreign Arms Post 6382, and of the American Legion Post 0392. He was the last surviving sibling of his family. If Leroy was not working or visiting family and friends you could find him at the casinos in Louisiana. Leroy is survived by sons Leroy, Jr. (Patsy) Mikulencak and Michael (Linda) Mikulencak all of Moulton. Five grandchildren: Robin (Lance) Harvey and Diana (Michael) Picha of Shiner, TX; Jonathan (Melanie) Mikulencak and Stacy (Dusty) Wagner of Moulton, TX and Kelly (Ryan) Hilz of Katy, TX. Eleven great grandchildren: Malorie Harvey, Abigail Harvey, Tyler Harvey, Kate Mikulencak, Cullen Mikulencak, Kylar Mikulencak, Cole Mikulencak, Bailey Wagner, Harper Wagner, Rylee Hilz and Kadon Hilz. Pallbearers are: Jonathan Mikulencak, Lance Harvey, Dusty Wagner, Michael Picha, Ryan Hilz, Jerry Fojtik, Clifton Vinklarek and Chris Hajek. A Visitation for Leroy will be on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton, TX. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with a funeral mass following at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Gabriel Maison.
