Louise Rose Migl-Machalec, 102, of Moulton, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Shady Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation in Moulton. She was born January 12, 1910 in Novohrad, Texas, Daughter of Josef and Aloizie (Mikulik) Migl. She was married to Joe P. Machalec in October 1930 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha. Louise was the last surviving of 13 children. She had 6 children: The late Alvin A. Machalec and (daughter- in -law Genevieve) of Corpus Christi, Genevieve L. Lockstedt (the late Carol) of Katy,Joseph L. Machalec (Ann) of Yoakum, Benjamin J. Machalec (Lee) of Missouri City, Beatrice A. Patek (Rudy) of Novohrad, Louise M. McGill and (the late Dennis) of Houston. She is survived by 22 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; Joe P. Machalec (husband), Alvin A. Machalec (son), Carol J. Lockstedt (son-in-law), Dennis McGill (son-in-law), Anthony C. Lockstedt (grandson), Aloise John Lockstedt (grandson) Shannon T. Machalec (granddaughter). She is also preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. Services Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 starting at 7:30 am to 9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Praha, Texas. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Praha. Pallbearers: Grandsons - Alvin Machalec, Alan Lockstedt, Kenneth Machalec, Michael Machalec, Douglas Patek, Gregory McGill Honorary pallbearers: Grandsons - Joseph R. Machalec, Robert Machalec, Christopher Patek, Patrick McGill, Mark McGill The family would like to thank Shady Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation for their kindness over the years. Louise was a resident for 18 years (setting the record for the longest resident). They would also like to thank Yoakum Community Hospital for their most gracious care. Louise touched many people's lives in her 102 years. Her humor was contagious. She could make you smile just by looking at her. She was awarded a pin last year for being in the Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas - K. J. Z. T. for 75 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Praha and a charter member Catholic Daughters of America of Moulton. She loved gardening and cooking and EVERYONE she came in contact. She loved her polka music, going dancing with her husband. Louise danced at her 102nd birthday party. She was known for her delicious chicken soup, quilting and taking care of her special brother Eddie Migl. She made over 80 quilts all hand stitched. She always spoke of seeing her first airplane. Louise saw many inventions in her lifetime. She attended the Prazaska Pout (Praha Picnic held every August 15th) 101 times in her 102 years. God's Little Angel. She loved praying the rosary and was very close to God. Louise said "I owe everything to God who is my leader. I love to pray, I turn to God who always gives me strength." She is just the perfect, All-American Mother and Grandmother. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Praha or T. C. H. C. C. Migl House.
