Marvin Jasek, Jr.

Marvin Jasek Jr., age 66, passed away on June 13, 2023.  He was born on April 3, 1957 in Shiner, Tx to Marvin Jasek, Sr. and Elsie Otahal Jasek.

Marvin graduated from Moulton High School in 1975.  He started his career as a chemical plant operator and worked in the field for 42 years.

Marvin married Elaine Klesel on August 27, 1977, in Hallettsville, Tx. The couple had 3 children, Angela, Josh, and Mandy Sue.

Jr, as he was infamously known to most, was the life of the party.  Rarely did you see him without his cooler “Oscar” and a domino table surrounded by anyone who was brave enough to take him on in a game.  Speaking of games, rarely was a time that the TV wasn’t on the Astros.  When they had an off day, you could find the TV on the latest game show with him always outsmarting everyone who played on the show.  He was an avid hunter, on several different leases in the Hill Country and south Texas. Although it was often called “beer” camp instead of deer camp, it was so much more than just a lease to him.  It was about making memories with family and friends and telling campfire stories about aliens.   After he retired, you would often see him with his wife, riding in a wagon on the trail rides with the best of friends leading the way.  He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren during the summer days and was always ready to spoil them with a corn-dog and some Blue Bell Ice cream. 

Marvin is survived by Elaine Jasek - wife, of Weimar, Elsie Jasek - mother, of Moulton,  Angela (Chad) Lala – daughter, of Hallettsville, Josh (Amanda) Jasek – son ,of Cape Carancahua, Mandy Sue (Glenn) Legare - daughter, of Magnolia, grandchildren; Alisyn, Austin, Jesse, Riley, Greenlie, Belle, Lincoln, and Bryar Rose, Mike (Marla) Jasek - brother, of Cape Carancahua, Pauline (Kenneth) Neskora - sister, of Moulton, Beverly Koranek - sister, of Moulton, Kay (Pat) Benes - sister, of Shiner.

Marvin is preceded in death by Marvin Jasek, Sr. - father, Rose Jasek – sister, Michael Koranek - brother-in-law and Ross Jasek – nephew.

The service for Marvin will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton, Tx, officiated by Father Gabriel Maison.

Visitation: Sunday, June 18, 2023, from 5-7:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton, Tx.

Rosary: Monday, June 19, 2023, at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton, Tx.

Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moulton, Tx.
