Mary Lev

Mary Ann Lev, age 87 years, passed away November 16, 2018 in Luling, Texas. She was born January 21, 1931 in Moulton, Texas to Henry C. and Hedwig (Klekar) Jasek. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha, KJZT #4 of Praha, Praha Altar Society, and the Farm Bureau. Mary Ann is survived by her sons Robert Lev and Stephen Lev and wife Judie of Flatonia, daughters Kathy Pesek of Shiner, Barbara Haenel and husband Jimmy of San Marcos, and Tracy Lev of New Braunfels, brother Henry Joe Jasek of Hallettsville, sisters Hattie Stryk of Praha and Angeline Jalufka of Moulton, sisters-in-law Bridget Lev of Flatonia and Dolores Jasek of Hallettsville, five grandchildren Stephanie Brazill and husband Jeff, Chris Boerm, Donata Torres and husband Jason, Ashley Spring and husband Kyle, and Dillon Pesek, and ten great-grandchildren Makella, Adalyn, and Penelope Torres, Charlotte and Chase Brazill, Brantley, Brooklynn, and Brycen Boerm, and Becklyn and Bellami Spring. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Emil John Lev, sister Henrietta Migl, son-in-law Bobby Pesek, and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Haenel, Chris Boerm, Dillon Pesek, Kyle Spring, Jeff Brazill, and Jason Torres. Honorary pallbearers are Judie Lev, Mike Griffin, Stanley Stryk, Bennie Jasek, Allen Brehm, Ken Stryk, Kenneth Lev, Tom Tofel, Tim Kozelsky, Rev. Earl Bingley, and Dale Seifert. The family wishes donations be made to Raphael's Refuge, Praha Veterans' Club, Incarnate Word Convent, Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center (TCHCC), or the American Cancer Society in memory of Mary Ann as a lasting expression of support. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00am Monday, November 19, 2018 with rosary following at 7:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Funeral Mass will take place at 2:00pm Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha with Father Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Praha.
