Mary Lillie (Michalec) Pavlicek, 96, of Moulton, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Moulton, Texas. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Moulton, Texas and will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 10:00 am at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton, Texas with Father Gabriel Maison officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 9:30 am at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Smith Funeral Home. Mary was born on December 6, 1919 in Henkhaus, Texas. She was the daughter of Joe V. and Anastazia (Rybac) Michalec. She worked at Fox Photography in San Antonio for a time and enjoyed visiting with the people who came in to have their photographs done. Mary married Albert Pavlicek on July 30, 1946 at Ascension of Our Lord at Moravia. Mary liked to sing and play music, and was a member of the YX Cowboys Band. She liked to sew, knit, and crochet gifts for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of the American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary. Mary is survived by four sons; Albert Pavlicek, Jr., and his wife, Carolyn of Hallettsville, Texas, Joe Pavlicek of Port O'Connor, Texas, David Pavlicek and his wife, Becky of Flatonia, Texas, Dennis Pavlicek and his wife, Susan of Victoria, Texas, three daughters; Betty Sobotik and her husband, Norbert of Hallettsville, Texas, Charlene Raabe and her husband Jerome of Moulton, Texas, Eunice Raabe of Rosenberg, Texas, one daughter-in-law; Elaine Pavlicek of Moulton, Texas, one sister; Viola Kresta of San Antonio, Texas, twenty-three grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Joe V. and Anastazia Michalec, her husband; Albert Pavlicek, one son; Daniel Pavlicek, two brothers; Victor Michalec, William Michalec two sisters; Dorothy Hromadka, and Martha Freytag.
