Mo Sanchez

Modesto "Mo" Mares Sanchez, age 87, passed away in his home on February 6, 2019 in Flatonia, Texas. He was born February 24, 1931 to Jose and Eduarda Mares Sanchez in Eagle Lake, Texas. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg, Texas. Mo is survived by his wife Joan Horn, sons Joe Sanchez and wife Angela, Bret Horn and wife Alma, and Tony Sanchez and wife Rose Mary, daughters Theresa Fisher, Yvonne Darilek and husband Butch, Lisa Pitts and husband David, and Connie Blackwell and husband Carroll, sister Bonnie Serreno, eighteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Victoria R. Sanchez, daughter Mary Ann Sanchez, and brothers Joe Henry Sanchez, Richy Sanchez, and Jimmy Sanchez. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00am Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia. Funeral Service will take place at 11:30am Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia.
