He was born May 12, 1922, in Moulton, to the late Theodore and Agnes Pilsner Wenske. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors: wife, Mary Novosad Wenske; daughters, Irene Wenske of Yoakum and Elizabeth DeBord of Houston; sons, Raymond Wenske and Michael Wenske, both of Victoria, Melvin Wenske of Yoakum, Clarence Wenske of Hallettsville, Ben Wenske and Roman Wenske Jr., both of Shiner, Patrick Wenske of Moulton, and Ernie Wenske of Houston; brother, Hubert Wenske of Moulton; 34 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: one sister and one brother.
A rosary was recited 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Services were 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating.
