Mrsdollie Hart

Mrs. Dollie Wehmeyer, age 93 passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007. She was born on October 31, 1913 to Ollie and Gussie Ling Hart and lived her entire life in the Flatonia community in Fayette County. She married Hugo Wehmeyer Sr. on December 29, 1935 and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage. Dollie's first priorities were her faith, family and home. Dollie always took great pride in her home and loved to work in her yard, which she did, well into the 80's."Grandma's house" was the site of many special events throughout the years. Dollie's church and community were also important to her. She was an active member of the Flatonia Baptist Church and was a volunteer at the A.E. Arnim Archives and Museum, as well as the Flatonia Public Library, until her health failed. Mrs. Wehmeyer also worked outside the home for many years at the area livestock auctions in Flatonia, Columbus, Gonzales and Hallettsville where she made many of her lifelong friends.

Dollie is survived by one son, Hugo Wehmeyer Jr. and wife Mary of Flatonia; daughter, Bobbie Jean Cook of Yoakum; six grandchildren, Si Cook and wife Kim of Waco, Randy Wehmeyer and wife Judy of Flatonia, Robby Wehmeyer and wife Kelly of Flatonia, Ronald Cook of Yoakum, Fred Cook III and wife Erica of Yoakum; step-granddaughter Marsha Patek and husband Donnie of Moulton; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and one brother, Arvil Hart of Flatonia.

Dollie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hugo on January 12, 1988; and 3 sisters, Orita Pavlica, Gladys Koening, and Olline Mica. Pallbearers were grandsons Si Cook, Randy Wehmeyer, Robby Wehmeyer, and Fred Cook III and great grandsons Wyatt Wehmeyer and Jocab Mason. Family received visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 Saturday, August 11, 2007. Funeral Services were Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 4:00 pm at the Flatonia Baptist Church in Flatonia with Rev. Tim Rowell officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia.
