Nova Sue (Cozy) Rose Mills, 84 years old Born September 20, 1932 Passed away on November 2, 2016 Nova Sue (Cozy) was born in Thorndale, Texas to Ralph and Laverne Rose. Nova Sue graduated from Pasadena High School in 1950, then attended Little Jolly School of Nursing in Houston Texas, and graduated in 1953 as an RN and eventually became the Director of Nursing at Southmore Hospital in Pasadena, Texas. On March 6, 1954, Nova Sue wed Melvin Mills Jr. of Pasadena, Texas, and had 2 children, a son Michael Wayne and a daughter, Sara Kay. After Melvin's retirement, he and Nova Sue moved to Cistern, Texas, until Melvin's death in 1993. Nova Sue then moved Bayou Vista until her death. She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Laverne Rose, husband Melvin, sister Shirley Miller, and son Michael. She is survived by her brother Lanny Rose and wife Jane, Brother-in-law, Don Miller, longtime friend, Mary-Ann Otahal, her daughter, Sara and her husband, Grant Sexton, and Daughter-in-law, Donna Mills; grandchildren, Susan and Katherine Sexton, Matthew Mills and his wife Emily, God-Son, Tyler Otahal, wife Victoria and daughter Addie, nieces and nephews, Jay Miller and his wife Debra, Gina Lenfest and her husband Michael, Mitch Rose, Lanna Parkinson and her husband Gard and great-nieces and nephews Justin and Scotty Lenfest, and Savannah Rose. Visitation will start at 6:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 7, 2016 at 12 Noon at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Cistern with Father Eddie Winkler officiating.
