Olga Jones Brosch, 83, of Schulenburg, and formerly of Flatonia passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Home in Schulenburg, Texas. Funeral Mass is under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, Texas and will be held at11:00 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, Texas with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas. Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday May 7, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Flatonia, Texas. Olga was born on February 11, 1930 in Flatonia, Texas. She was the daughter of Frank and Otilia (Kocian) Mares, Sr. Olga was a Beautician, and Restaurant owner for over 30 years. During her younger years, Olga enjoyed bowling. Olga did not consider her restaurant as her job, but it was her hobby where she made the best enchiladas you could ever find. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for family and friends. Her greatest love was taking care of her granddaughters. Olga was an outgoing person who "Never met a stranger". Olga is survived by one son; Darrell Jones of Flatonia, Texas, one daughter; Debbie Hall and her husband, Ricky of Schulenburg, Texas, one brother; Frank Mares, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn of Schulenburg, Texas, three grandchildren; Holly Adams, Chelsea Hall, Sami Hall, all of Schulenburg, Texas, one great-grandson; Graylen Adams of Schulenburg, Texas, and a nephew; Jeremy Mares of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Otilia Mares, Sr., and her husband, Laddie Machac. The family request memorials to: Hospice of South Texas or the American Cancer Society.
