Ollie M. Pospisil, age 97 of Praha, Tx passed from this world to a better place on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Ollie was the 5th of seven children born July 29, 1923 in Moravia, Tx to Albina Petter Vrana and Emil Vrana Sr. In her younger years, she worked at the family owned cotton gin and her brother Emil Vrana II's hatchery. On July 26, 1949, Ollie married Julius L. Pospisil and to this union were born Timothy, Alan and Sandra. Ollie was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many. Mom loved to work crossword puzzles until glaucoma impaired her eyesight. She loved to tell stories about her childhood and early days in Moravia. She collected curios and enjoyed sewing. She planted a large vegetable garden every spring well into her 80's. Her homemade egg noodles and poppyseed rolls were delicious. Ollie was a member of St. Mary's Praha Catholic Church, Praha Altar Society, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #94, Fayette County Farm Bureau, and SPJST Lodge 23 in Moravia. In addition to her parents, Ollie was preceded in death by husband Julius, brothers Julius, William, Emil II, Eddie and sisters Martha Hanslik and Millie Berger. Ollie is survived by her children: sons - Timothy Pospisil and Alan Pospisil (Janice) of Praha, and daughter - Sandra Pospisil of Houston; as well as sister-in-law Agnes "Dot" Vrana of Yoakum; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Pallbearers are Julius "Duke" Vrana, Dale Vrana, Ronnie Kallus, Eli Hanslik, Steve Hamblin, David Jorgensen, Ron Kallus, and Reid Vrana. Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Kallus, Larry Vrana, and Emil Vrana III. Visitation for Ollie will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, Tx. A rosary will be recited starting at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha, Tx followed by a funeral mass beginning at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Gabriel Maison. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Praha, Tx. Family asks that memorials be made to St. Mary's Praha Catholic Church, Hospice of South Texas, Flatonia Fire Department, or a personal charity of one's choice.
