Peggy Villa

Peggy Jane Byrn of Hallettsville, formerly of Eagle Lake, passed away May 24, 2016 in Stevens Nursing Home in Hallettsville. Peggy was born Oct 18, 1929 in Wynn, AR. She graduated from there and went onto Secretarial school, moved to Texas and had three children She lived in Eagle Lake and worked with a state group home in Columbus and Eagle Lake. She also was a volunteer with the Eagle Lake EMS for over 10 years. Due to health problems, she moved to Hallettsville to be closer to family. Peggy then moved to Stevens's nursing home this past year, where she also passed away. Peggy is survived by two daughters, Theresa Huser and husband Marvin Huser, and Mary Sommerlatte of Alabama, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Mary Villa, sister Bobby Roddy, son Hank Matthews, and grandson Steven Brown. Peggy is being cremated and the family will hold a small memorial service for her June 9, 2016 at 2:30pm at Sacred Heart Family Center in Hallettsville.
