Raymond Joseph "Ray" Bacak, 80, of Moulton, TX was called to his eternal resting place on Monday, July 10, 2023. He was born on October 17, 1942 in Flatonia, TX, to Julius Bacak and Lena Matocha Bacak.
Ray graduated from Flatonia High School in 1961 and went on to earn a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas in 1971. He started his career as a Certified Public Accountant for Exxon where he worked for twenty-seven years.
Ray married Bernadette Freytag in 1968. The couple were blessed with 2 children, Darrell and Rusty Bacak.
Ray was best known for the ways he served the Church with his wife: from running Bingos and helping our mother as Director of Religious Education at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Alief, to serving alongside her in Youth Ministry at St. Bartholomew’s in Katy. He was a huge University of Texas Longhorn fan and ticket holder. Later in life he served the Moulton community through being an officer in the local American Legion, serving in the Lions club, and school district.
Ray also served his country in the Army.
Ray is survived by Darrell Bacak (Shelby) - son, of Katy, Rusty Bacak (Jennifer) - son, of Bryan, James Bacak - brother, of Richmond, Lee J. Bacak - brother, of Hallettsville, Glenn Bacak - brother, of Austin, Alice Fajkus - sister, of Schulenburg, Doris Narro - sister, of Chattanooga, TN, Anita half sister of West Virginia, Kevin Corrier-Cox - grandchild, Graham Bacak - grandchild, Emma Bacak - grandchild, Jax Bacak - grandchild, Emmanuella Bacak - grandchild, Justus Bacak - grandchild, Treston Bacak - grandchild.
Ray is preceded in death by Julius Bacak - father, Lena Matocha Bacak - mother, Bernadette Freytag Bacak - wife, and sister Kathleen Miller.
A memorial service for Ray will be held on Monday July 17th at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton, preceded by visitation at 9 and a Rosary at 9:30.
Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Flatonia, TX immediately following the mass.
